Lynette Smith started playing classical guitar at the age of 8 on an old classical Takamine with a pickup in it.
Since then she has played rock/blues guitar (electric, acoustic, bass) for her own solo and band performances, and for numerous artists since 1990. Lyn is also a solid vocalist who can harmonise, sing lead or backing vocals.
In 2007, she started songwriting solidly and has developed a portfolio of songs ranging from jazz ballads, to rockabilly blues, alternative rock and acoustic folk.
More recently, Lynette has ventured into music production and composition, establishing a small home studio in which to create electronic, classical and band arrangements.
Lynette has also tutored students in classical/contemporary guitar, and performance since 2012.
She is currently playing bass guitar for the French pop-noir band, Hairpin Culvert.
Her most recent work includes composition and sound design for the stop-motion animation, 'Winston'.
Lyn is a Full Songwriting Member of APRA.
