About
Lynette Smith started playing classical guitar at the age of 8 on a second-hand classical Takamine with a pickup in it, purchased by her parents.
Since then she has played rock/blues guitar (electric, acoustic, bass) for solo and band performances; also for numerous artists since 1990. Lyn is also a solid vocalist who can harmonise, sing lead or backing vocals.
In 2007, she started songwriting solidly and has developed a portfolio of songs ranging from jazz ballads, to rockabilly blues, alternative rock and acoustic folk.
More recently, Lynette has ventured into music production and composition, establishing a small home studio in which to create electronic, classical and band arrangements.
Lynette has also tutored students in classical/contemporary guitar, and performance since 2012.
Her most recent work includes composition and sound design for the 3D stop-motion animation, 'The Mask Maker', alongside world-renowned puppeteer, Gary Friedman.
She is currently playing bass guitar for the French-noir pop band, Hairpin Culvert and studying mix engineering.
Lyn is a Full Songwriting Member of APRA.
